4. Small talk you can do as foreigner

The natives used to ask me:

Do you understand English?  Kasabot ka og English?
Do you know how to speak English?  Kabalo ka mo-English?
Do you understand Bisaya? Kabalo ka mo-binisaya?

You could answer this:

Yes, I understand. Oo, kasabot ko.
I don't understand. - Wala ko kasabot. (also shortened to: Wa ko kasabot.)

Yes - Oo
No - Dili

And if you haven't understood the native at all, try:

Please repeat. - Balika palihug.
